We sent the ever so cool Jason Lee Coates (one of the buyers at ValleyDez) to the fabulous Madonna concert. Jason accompanied with a few of his friends were set for a front row experience at Madonna’s world tour. Jason documents his fun trip and here’s what he had to say….
“Twenty years ago I had the opportunity to see Madonna live in Sydney. Unfortunately I had the second-last row from the back, and I vowed to see her again and be in the front row.”
“Getting to the concert was almost as cool as the concert itself. First we had drinks at the glamorous jetty bar with our Dubai friends, then we got into a stretch limousine and drove to Abu Dhabi. The stadium was enormous – and it was open air which meant it was super hot. You could see all the sweat dripping off Madonna when she finally came on stage. Can you imagine all that heat and then all those lights?”
“The stage was amazing – it started with bells ringing and giant gates smashing behind a bunch of priests, who then took off all of their clothes and danced around in tights and high heels. Girls Gone Wild!”
“We were so close we could almost touch Madonna, and at one point she held the microphone out to us and let us sing.”
“It freaked me out to watch the soldiers come down from the rooftop for the Gimme All your Love scene.”
“But most of all I loved seeing her sing some of her old songs like Erotica, and my personal favourite, VOGUE. All of the costumes were by Jean Paul Gaultier, my biggest fashion inspiration – I just died over the corsets! This song was such an inspiration to me, it inspired me to get into fashion and to work at Australian Vogue, and it still continues to inspire me. Every day I try to STRIKE A POSE!”
