Nasha Mekraksavanich is accessories designer, whose creations are inspired by Architecture, modernity using classical craftsmanship techniques.
Back in the 80’s, when the Memphis Design Group as known as an anti-design movement was founded in Milan by Ettore Sottsass and the Collaborators. They were injected a dose of postmodernism into mainstream European design. The design as a cultural criticism, rather than as a functional tool or statement of modernist intent.
Nasha Mekraksavanich was inspired by the design direction of the Memphis group, visual irony, puns and provocations. She has envisioned that “if she is replicating herself in the Memphis era as a bag designer, how would the bag will be like?” So the conclusion is to be distinctive as Memphis craftsmanship, integrated with a material combination such as wood, goat-skin leather, resin, stingray skin. The hand-cut leather imitating snake skin clutches and Resin hardware with a marble effect.
