We first blogged about “Fame” on July 16 (Lady Gaga’s Gag Fragrance?), and like everyone else in the universe, we’ve been teetering with anticipation to experience the latest celebrity to dabble with perfumerie.
Ever the controversialist, the rumors surrounding Lady G’s fragrance have spread like wildfire: everything from its notes and looks (black-colored juice that turns invisible upon spritz), to leaked packaging, campaign stills and now the official campaign video (see below for images from the preview campaign video that was launched a few days ago). As it turns out, Lady Gaga’s “Fame”, which is due for official launch in a few days (August 22, mark your calendars!), the fragrance box describes the scent as having notes of Belladonna. Elle UK reports: “… a deadly nightshade, pulverised apricot, saffron and honey drops. After first whiff it is sweet, erring on sickly, but it dries down on the skin to a soft, addictive scent – reminiscent of the addictive nature of fame, perhaps?”
The official film campaign for the perfume will unveil at the Guggenheim Museum in New York next month. So much hype surrounding a perfume? Rightly so! The film is produced by the legendary Riddley Scott and is directed by Steven Klein. An ad for “Fame” has even landed itself a massive bilboard spot on Times Square!
